The General Store
The General Store of the 1850s had almost everything that the customer wanted. If you had lived in Aztalan then, you might have brought in some of your produce to the storekeeper. Butter was ten cents a pound. So, if you bright in eight pounds of butter, you would have received eighty cents worth of credit towards your purchase of "goods". Goods could have include food, clothing, materials, candles and more.
